Actually, reincarnation and karma are more associated with Hinduism than Buddhism, I believe. I have’t run into much preoccupation with either in the literature I’ve read and people I’ve talked to.
Though I must say there are as many flavors of Buddhism as you’d find in any Baskin-Robbins. Many (Zen, Tibetan) tend to be more ritualistic and dogmatic and taste much more like religions, whereas others are more laid-back. There’s quite a range.
As for philosophy quizzes, I took one two years ago back here (http://www.livejournal.com/users/ornoth/3811.html) that might be of interest to you.
